ICWC would like to express our condolences to the victims of the violence which occurred in Sri Lanka. The Muslim communities around the world grieve as we witness the events of Sri Lanka. The foundation of society is to protect every life. The deaths of innocents have shocked us all. Humanity and Muslims cannot be silent when faced with such violence.
"To Allah we belong and to Him is our return. Due to Allah that which He has taken away and His is whatever He has given. With Him, everything has an appointed term; so let us have patience and seek reward from Him."
"...If anyone slays a human being...it shall be as though he had slain all of humanity; whereas, if anyone saves a life, it shall be as though he had saved the lives of all of humanity." (Qur'an 5:32)
Together we must uphold the sanctity of life - every life and in action to work for justice.
In this time of difficulty, our hearts and prayers are extended to all of the families impacted by this tragedy. Let us pray together for forgiveness of all, bless the families with support and lot of patience and we all be guided to live this very short life in peace and prosperity for all.
We pray to Allah Almighty to grant peace and calm. We also request that everyone pray for the families of the victims and that Allah Almighty bestow His Mercy upon them and grant them patience through this difficult time.
ICWC will be in contact with our local leaders and partners to see how our community can help those affected by this tragedy.
